Davis-Jones
Two families become one...
Erasmus Benton Davis and Mintie Evaline
Jones
with children
Ruthie, Trudie, Elmer, and twins Earlene and Pearlene

When her husband passed away from typhoid fever shortly after
the onset of the Civil War, Rebecca Tippit Davis moved her children
from Mississippi to Rapides Parish, Louisiana, to be near her brother.
Around the same time, James Jones, a veteran of the Mexican War,
moved his family to Sabine Parish, Louisiana, from Perry County,
Alabama.
The marriage of their two grandchildren, Erasmus Benton Davis
and Mintie Evaline Jones, was the foundation of the Davis-Jones family
of today.
